PechaKucha Night: The Art of Architecture

Date:
Tuesday, May 7, 2024 - 6:00pm to 7:30pm

Frank Lloyd Wright's Westcott House and the Springfield Museum of Art present "The Art of Architecture," a special PechaKucha Night featuring artists who focus on the subject of architecture.

The theme is inspired by "Wright in Ohio," an exhibition of panoramic photographs of Wright sites by Thomas R. Schiff, currently on display at the Springfield Museum of Art. The exhibition is on view from June 16, 2023 - May 19, 2024.

PechaKucha Nights are informal and fun gatherings where creative people get together and share their ideas, works, thoughts, holiday snaps, etc. Anyone can present - this is the beauty of PechaKucha Nights. The idea was devised in Tokyo in February 2003 as an event for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public. Since then it has morphed into a massive celebration with events in more than 1,200 cities around the world. Drawing its name from the Japanese term for the sound of chitchat, it rests on a simple and momentum driven presentation format: 20 images x 20 seconds.

This event is free to the public and hosted by the Springfield Museum of Art, 107 Cliff Park Road, Springfield, OH 45504. Cash bar available. Registration is recommended. Participants will be able to view the exhibitions currently on display at the art museum.
