Frank Lloyd Wright’s Westcott House is located on the corner of East High Street and South Greenmount Avenue. East High Street Historic District, with its opulent mansions reflects the wealth of Springfield’s golden era and the successful stories of entrepreneurs and businessmen who lived here in early 1900’s. South Greenmount Avenue, with the houses built directly behind the Westcott House, represents the modest 19th century vernacular architecture and the working class history in Springfield, Ohio. While East High Street has experienced an expansive revitalization over the past 15 years, South Greenmount shows many years of degradation and disrepair and has been a challenging neighbor for the museum.
