Westcott House Receives Honor, People's Choice Awards

January 5, 2008 -- The Westcott House Foundation has received two awards from the Columbus chapter of The American Institute of Architects (AIA).

The Columbus AIA announced its 2007 Annual Design competition winners Thursday, December 6, 2007. The Westcott House was selected out of a pool of over 30 entries to receive one of three honor awards. Jurors from Omaha, Nebraska commented that "this project was an amazing transformation of an existing house back to its origin as particular attention was paid to detail, including authentic furniture." The Westcott House was nominated by Schooley Caldwell Associates which, in collaboration with Chambers, Murphy & Burge Restoration Architects, was a lead architectural firm for the extensive restoration. Additionally, the Westcott House was awarded the People's Choice Award at the Columbus AIA Gala on December 8, which was voted on by those in attendance.
