PBS to Air Westcott House Documentary
March 3, 2008Local PBS station Think TV-Channels 14 and 16 will premier the documentary film by noted filmmaker Kerry Rasikas, Frank Lloyd Wright’s Westcott House during its 2008 annual fund drive. The film details the local history and extensive restoration of this national historic Frank Lloyd Wright treasure. The Westcott House, built in 1908, is the only Prairie Style house in Ohio and considered by Wright experts to be evolutionary in its design. The documentary will be shown Thursday, March 6, 2008, at 8 PM. The film features interviews with Eric Lloyd Wright, former Director of Fallingwater Tom Schmidt, restoration experts Elwin C. Robison and Lauren Burge. Interviews with Westcott House Foundation board member Katherine Denney, President/CEO Rob Kearns and Curator Marta Wojcik will also be presented during the broadcast.
Think TV will also show the film on Saturday, March 8th at 5:30 PM on Channel 16, on Sunday, March 9th at 1:00 PM on Channel 14 and on Monday, March 10th at 8:00 PM on Channel 16.
In addition to airing the Westcott House Foundation restoration documentary, Think TV will offer gifts from the Westcott House for their supporters. These include tour tickets, the Westcott House DVD, and tickets to the Centennial Tribute, scheduled for September 6. Think TV 14 and 16 are part of the network for Greater Dayton Public Television. The network serves more than 750,000 people providing educational and cultural programming to the Miami Valley.
