Visit the Westcott House on the Web
March 24, 2008The Westcott House is expanding its online presence through social networking and new media sites. Those interested can review photos of The Westcott House, our programs and events on Flickr. There is a short informational video about the restoration of Frank Lloyd Wright’s only Prairie Style house in Ohio available on YouTube, as well as other videos about recent programs and events.
The Westcott House also sponsors a spring lecture series, an array of educational programs for student, adults and educators, design exhibits, immersive art/multi-media events, workshops, and social activities. 2008 marks our 100th Anniversary and we have several special events planned this year. Members of Myspace and Facebook can receive detailed information and updates on special “Centennial” tour opportunities, upcoming exhibits and programs.
Our mission is to promote a greater understanding of Frank Lloyd Wright particularly about Wright’s concept of organic architecture, design process thinking, and to develop design programming that supports education. Through social and media networks The Westcott House is enabled to connect more effectively and share its mission and vision with individuals around the region, country, and world.
Our objectives are to engage in the meaningful exchange of information related to The Westcott House, Frank Lloyd Wright and ideas related to organic architecture and how these ideas might be applied today. We are also interested in learning as much as we can about the history of the Burton J. Westcott family and the Westcott Car Company. If you have information about these areas we would be interested to hear from you. Visitors and supporters are encouraged to share their comments, experiences and reviews of The Westcott House programs, events, and tours.
