Volunteer

Volunteer Today!

Volunteers provide vital support to the tours, programs, special events, and daily operations of the Westcott House. We would not be able to manage the museum without them! Their passion helps fuel the celebration of preservation, architecture, design and innovation in Springfield. Invest in the Westcott House today, and help to educate visitors of all ages about the beauty and importance of preserving our architectural and cultural heritage.

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Serve as a docent for Westcott House tours.
  • Greet and assist visitors in the museum store.
  • Conduct research on Frank Lloyd Wright, the Westcotts, and Springfield's architectural heritage.
  • Assist staff with special events and general office duties.

Volunteer Training and Service Requirements
Volunteers are trained prior to service and enjoy numerous opportunities for continuing education. The Westcott House requests that individuals contribute an average of 4 hours per month to maintain an active volunteer status. All are expected to be reliable and prompt and adhere to the same professional standards as museum staff.

An architecture background is not required. Volunteers bring enthusiasm and dedication to their work. They are eager to learn, and many share an interest in architecture and art history.
