Westcott House Design Studio by the Now Device

July 10 - 23, 2008

The Now Device in the partnership with The Westcott House Foundation facilitated a two week design workshop introducing high school students to the use of contemporary audio and visual media as a means of communicating ideas, expressing artistic themes and capturing and exploring emotional meaning. Frank Lloyd Wright's Westcott House served as a source of inspiration. Students explored, examined and considered the house on many different levels and created an original interpretive piece of art through combined venues of self-expression. Elements of their work will be incorporated into a collaborative multi media performance in the fall of 2008 with The Now Device and the Springfield Symphony Orchestra's production of Frank Lloyd Wright's Westcott House: A Centennial Tribute.
