In Fall 2007, The Westcott House and Fallingwater partnered with the Miami University Department of Architecture and Interior Design. Mentored by Professor John Reynolds, sixteen students visited both sites and conducted site and buildings analysis that led to a comprehensive design study. This project inspired an exciting dialogue about the vitality of Wright design principles and their potential implementation in the contemporary world.

The students’ semester work resulted in sensitive yet impressive plans for the Westcott House’s neighborhood revitalization. Furthermore, students provided the staff of Fallingwater with a masterplan and 16 prototypes for on-site housing that would be used for Fallingwater programming and education activities. Through this collaboration, students gained invaluable skills to respond to real life challenges.

Join us for the exhibit opening to see the results and meet the students as they share they experiences from the “Wright Journey.”
