Visiting During COVID-19

We are excited to welcome you back to the Westcott House! Please review our guidelines carefully to help us make your experience safe and enjoyable.

The health and safety of our visitors and our community are our top priority. Our reopening plan is informed by the feedback from our volunteer team, board, peer organizations and developed in alignment with official health and government recommendations. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to our staff at

  • If you feel unwell or have symptoms of COVID-19, please visit another day. If you develop symptoms after purchasing your tickets, please contact our staff at to reschedule your tour.

  • All visitors should reserve a tour ticket before visiting. We have reduced the size of our tour groups to eight persons per tour.

  • Under normal circumstances, our tour includes a short documentary. However, currently, due to the social distancing requirements, we ask our visitors to preview our documentary prior to your visit.

  • Face masks are required. Please wear a face mask for the protection of all visitors, volunteers and staff. Make sure your mask fits snugly against your face. Disposable masks will be available to visitors who did not bring their own masks. No person can participate in a tour or shop in our store without wearing a mask. If you have any health conditions that prevent you from wearing a mask, please do not plan a visit until the restrictions are lifted. More helpful information about how mask wearing protects you and others can be found here

  • Staff, volunteers, and guests are asked to use preventive measures and apply hand sanitizer before proceeding to check-in area. Disposable nitrile gloves are also available for extra protection for those guests who wish to browse through our products in our museum store.

  • We have implemented strict cleaning and sanitation practices in all our spaces. Our staff will be responsible for disinfecting high-touch surfaces and cleaning the bathroom routinely before and after every tour.

  • We are adopting contactless checkout and payments as much as possible. We encourage visitors to pay by credit or debit card. Plexi shield has been installed at our register station.

  • Please respect and maintain social distancing of six-feet or more at all times. Guests will be advised to practice physical distancing by standing at least six feet away from other groups of people not traveling with them while browsing the museum store, and participating in tours.

  • Our staff and volunteer team receive a health screening at the beginning of their shift. We require staff and volunteer members who have any symptoms of COVID-19 to self-quarantine according to CDC guidelines.

  • We have installed iWave-R System in the air handling units for our museum. iWave-R is a self-cleaning, no maintenance needlepoint bi-polar ionization generator designed specifically for treating air in residential duct A/C systems. As the air flows past the iWave-R, positive and negative ions actively purify the supply air, killing mold, bacteria and viruses in the coil and living space. The ionization process also reduces allergens, smoke and static electricity, as well as controlling odors, and other particles in the air without creating ozone or any harmful byproducts.
